The Race Format

What Is HYROX?

HYROX is a global fitness race held in major cities, including Amsterdam. Every race is identical: 8km of running split into 1km segments, each followed by one of 8 functional workout stations. Total distance: 8km run + 8 functional stations. It's the same format every time — which means it's completely trainable.

Most people show up undertrained on the stations or underestimate the running volume. My HYROX prep programmes fix both — and they're built around your current fitness level and your race date.

All 8 Stations. Zero Surprises.

Every station has a different energy system, technique demand, and pacing strategy. We train them all — in context, under fatigue, with your target load.

01
SkiErg
Shoulder endurance, pull mechanics, and pacing after your first 1km.
1,000m
02
Sled Push
Hip drive, full body force production. The station that kills most athletes.
50m
03
Sled Pull
Rope-based posterior chain work. We train grip endurance and posture under load.
50m
04
Burpee Broad Jumps
The pace-killer. Learn to chip efficiently without blowing your heart rate.
80m
05
Rowing
Damper setting, drive mechanics, and calorie pacing that matches your aerobic capacity.
1,000m
06
Farmers Carry
Loaded carry stability, grip fatigue management, and breathing pattern.
200m
07
Sandbag Lunges
Knee stability under load, split squat mechanics, and pacing under late-race fatigue.
100m
08
Wall Balls
The final station. Squat depth, catch mechanics, and breaking strategy to cross the line clean.
100 reps

What Clients Say

★★★★★

"I'd done two HYROX races before working with Vince and always fell apart at the sled push and wall balls. With his programme I finally had a plan for every station — and I took 18 minutes off my time."

— Antoine, Amsterdam
★★★★★

"The running programme is what I was missing. I could do all the stations fine in isolation but I was dying by station 5 in the race. Training the transitions changed everything."

— Quirijn, Amsterdam
★★★★★

"Trained fully online with Vince from Berlin. The weekly check-ins and video feedback were exactly what I needed — finished my first HYROX under 1:20 and felt strong the entire way."

— Victor, Online
